Brett Schatto
Brett is the founder and CEO of Pride Advice.Born and bred in the Riverland, he moved to Adelaide after finishing school at 16 to study Naturopathy. Unsure of his career course and feeling guilty about his parents spending their hard-earned income on his tuition, accommodation and allowance, Brett decided to change direction.Brett joined the South Australian Police Force in 1989, starting as a patrol officer and then working as a detective in the area of Criminal Investigation. Brett moved into SAPOL’s Anti-Corruption branch, and then the Serious Fraud Investigation Branch, where he worked on complex and highly-secretive cases, including serious financial planning fraud.With a young family, Brett enrolled to study commerce at the University of Adelaide part-time and in 2000 left SAPOL to work as a financial planner. Besides completing his Bachelor of Commerce at Adelaide University Brett also completed a post-graduate Diploma in Global Wealth Management. He has also attended Strategic Management Courses at the HEC in Paris, Cambridge, Columbia and Stanford.In 2003 Brett established Pride Advice and through his guidance the company has won its licensee National Advice Practice of the Year six times in a row in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021.Brett brings to Pride a unique resilience to help people dealing with their own issues. He has personally watched, suffered and learnt from the deaths of family, friends and complete strangers – and shared his knowledge to make the lives of others easier.He has delivered death messages and covered bodies at accidents, suicides and murder scenes. He has helped rape victims, broken up fights and investigated high profile people. He has been assaulted and king-hit, and faced his own mortality.But his personal trials and tribulations are barely a diversion compared to the deep loss he felt when his son Jordan was killed in an accident, aged just nine. Another of his children has undergone life-saving liver surgery with ongoing complications ahead of an anticipated transplant.Brett brings those experiences to the workplace at Pride Advice, where he specialises in giving financial advice to people changing careers, preparing for retirement or at other key life stages. As a pro bono offering, Brett is also often called to discuss financial affairs with those entering palliative care or undergoing cancer treatment after being impacted by cancer when his business partner Katie, 30, was diagnosed with breast cancer just as she fell pregnant with her new husband. He delivered her eulogy two years later.Life hasn’t always been smooth sailing for Brett, but he has been able to share those experiences to help others navigate challenging financial times, manage windfalls and prepare for uncertainty. He has developed an empathy around suffering.
Ghenwa Alaeddine
A consummate all-rounder, Ghenwa oversees Pride Advice as the Head of Operations. Ghenwa performs her duties with aplomb. She manages the practice, seeing that business runs smoothly and ensuring staff are happy and have all the resources to perform to the highest level.Ghenwa understands all aspects of financial planning as she is a qualified financial planner and has completed her FASEA accreditation in 2020.Outside of work, Ghenwa enjoys spending time with her Son Zein and Husband, watching Port Power and catching up with family and friends.
Jolie Boyce
With a distinguished 20-year tenure in the financial services sector, Jolie brings a comprehensive background encompassing paraplanning, personal advice, compliance, and most recently, practice management. She is fervent about fostering enduring relationships both with clients and team members, underscored by her exceptional listening skills, empathy, and knack for devising practical solutions. Jolie is a staunch advocate for the critical role financial advisers play in enlightening and enabling clients to navigate their financial choices confidently. She finds profound satisfaction in watching advisers guide their clients towards achieving outcomes beyond their initial expectations.
Jolie possesses an in-depth understanding of compliance, continuously keeping abreast of sectoral and regulatory developments. Her academic achievements include earning a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Jolie is an avid reader with a deep appreciation for music and piano. She also cherishes exploring new destinations as well as revisiting cherished old ones in her travels.
David Slovinec
Dave is our specialist risk adviser. He has worked in financial services since 2007, and has developed extensive knowledge of the industry and diligently assisted clients through their insurance and superannuation needs. He has also worked with SME’s and their teams to educate them on superannuation and insurance to equip them with knowledge so that they can make better informed decisions about their own superannuation and superannuation requirements.Prior to Financial Services, Dave gained people and management skills whilst working as a sales manager and running a sales team.As part of Dave’s philanthropic work, he has chosen to give back to the financial services industry by spending seven years on board of the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) where he played an extensive part supporting the financial adviser community. His commitment to the community also extends to supporting families caring for children with rare illnesses in the form of an annual event - ‘The Super Loong Lunch’ – now in its 8th year. Since its establishment he has played a major role in raising more than $300,000 to help provide children with lifesaving medical treatments.Outside of work Dave supports the greatest football club (Port Power) and loves going to the games with his 2 daughters. He is also an avid cook and loves cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
Astrid Lynch
Drawing from over 20 years in the financial services sector, Astrid Lynch is a Senior Financial Adviser whose key focus is to help her clients achieve their goals and positively impact their lives. Astrid entered the financial industry in 2006 working as a tax consultant at KPMG for 5.5years before making the move into Financial Advice in 2011. Astrid enjoys all things finance and has furthered her knowledge holding a Self-Managed Super Fund accreditation and Margin Lending, as well as completing a Cert IV in Leadership and Management.Astrid believes that the most important part of her role is assisting clients in their knowledge of finance and that it's not about how much you have, but what you choose to do with it!
Malcolm Brown
After entering financial services in 1986, Malcolm has gained a wealth of experience across the board through a diversity of roles with life offices, fund managers and financial planning practices. In 2004, he gained his Diploma of Financial Planning and in 2008 accreditation as a Certified Financial Planner, making him a member of the FPA. Even within financial planning, he’s explored every avenue, working in administration and client service, before becoming an adviser. What this means for Malcolm’s clients, is a formidable knowledge that crosses every aspect of our industry, along with an insight into how to create a package appropriate for your precise situation. As a mark of the man, it now gives him considerable satisfaction to pass on his vast expertise on the technical sides of the profession to younger staff. Outside of work, Malcolm enjoys playing golf, watching most sports, and spending time with his wife and two daughters. With these qualifications and experience, he is well qualified to help clients to achieve their financial goals.
Brenton Marriott
Brenton is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds their Financial Planning Specialist designation. He also holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from Adelaide University and has been in the investment/finance/accounting industry since 1978.Brenton specializes in the investment management area, helping clients to create wealth, to develop the most appropriate strategies and tax structures for their needs and thereby enabling them to enjoy financial independence. This encompasses the areas of superannuation, including ‘self managed funds’, pensions and Centrelink benefits for those approaching or at retirement. Vanessa has been a practising professional in the financial services industry for over a decade. Based on her experience in working with clients of all demographics, she is of the firm belief that financial planning should be incorporated into an individuals financial journey as early as possible, to ensure their financial foundations are established with a clear direction as to what their objectives are and how they will be achieved.
Ian Evans
Ian holds over a decade of experience in financial advice. After an eighteen-year career in the automotive industry, Ian pursued a career path that would see him gain a master’s degree in financial planning and help many clients on their personal wealth journey along the way.Clients appreciate his personal and genuine approach to their relationship which Ian attributes to his past career. He works well with all age groups and people in different life stages and careers. Having clients understand their strategy and structure moving forward to help achieve their goals is truly rewarding for Ian. “I enjoy educating, and I gain a lot of satisfaction and enjoyment from seeing people I work closely with, identify what they want to achieve, and then understand how we are going to successfully reach that target.”Ian is a sport lover and coaches an amateur league football team in Adelaide. Ian regularly visits Mildura to see family after living there for a 6- year period.

Known for his client-focused approach and enate ability to explain the complicated in simple terms, Glen provides clarity and reassurance, empowering clients to feel confident about their financial future. As acknowledgement of his work as Chair of the FPA Northern Territory Chapter from 2004-2009, he was bestowed with the FPA Fellow Award 2010. Having relocated from Darwin to SA in 2024, Glen and his wife are embracing their new life in the Barossa, renovating their 1850s Seppeltsfield property, and enjoying the fine wine and food surrounding them.

Alicia Chamberlain
Alicia joined the financial planning industry in 2013 at Bailey Capital Management now merged with Pride Advice. She completed a Bachelor of Business Degree at the University of SA in 2016 whilst starting her role at Pride Advice as Client Services – Team Leader.Alicia is a hard worker with a friendly and caring nature. Alicia has a passion for ensuring the client’ needs and objectives are met as someone once told her "to take a step back and put yourself in someone else's shoes". Everything Alicia does revolves around producing the best outcome for our clients. Her previous experience in customer support and administration has been gained across multiple industries including mining, chemicals and retail. After 15 years as a retail assistant and manager in the fashion industry, Jennah wanted a change of scenery, different job opportunities and to take on new challenges while still fulfilling an excellent standard of customer service.In 2018, Jennah joined the Pride Advice team and quickly became an integral part of the client services team. Andi joined the Pride team in 2020 and comes with 25 years of management, customer service and entrepreneurial experience. In that time her customers have come to value the high priority she places in meeting their needs. She has developed a style that is cordial and relaxed while being thorough and effective. Andi prides herself on her strong customer service ethic, centrelink assistance expertise and attention to detail. Ron has more than 20 years of experience in financial planning, including 19 years specialising in risk insurance. He helps families, professionals and business owners understand their insurance options and plan for life’s big “what ifs” with greater clarity and confidence. Ron is known for his caring, trustworthy and reliable approach, and for explaining complex issues in plain English without unnecessary jargon.
